On December 18th and 19,th the 9th Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato & Ride Snowboards kicked off with bluebird and sunshine at the skiresort of Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach. Despite strict safety precautions, the first stage of Zillertal´s most popular Snowboard Amateur Series was a full success, hosting 80 registered riders out of an international starter field.
What a tour start! Just in time for the first Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY tourstop 2021/2022 hosted by Blue Tomato & Ride Snowboards, the Betterpark Hochzillertal showed off with a majestic setup, bluebird and sunshine all weekend long. Almost 80 riders showed up for the first VÄLLEY RÄLLEY stage in Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach, already going big on the training day while practising for the great competiton on Sunday. Despite strict safety precautions, the event went smoothly and everbody was beyond happy to be there. In the open slopestyle contest on Sunday, teams from all over Europe kept pushing the limits on Betterpark Hochzillertal´s premium setup. Lots of medals, prizes and prize money were up for grabs for the podium winners of all eight categories.
It was the Austrian rider Thomas Rebernig, who caused furore with his „Underflip 720 to Frontflip Double nose“ and thus earned the Horsefeathers Best Trick Award. The luckiest girl of the day was probably Sky Remans from Belgium, who went for gold in the Super Grom Girls category (U13), bronze in the open ranking of all female participants and finally claimed the award as the “Most impressive Grom of the Day.” Eric Dovjak from Austria showed off with a solid performance, winning the Rookie Boys contest (16-18 years) and taking the lead of the “Overall Men´s” ranking.
For the girls it was Vanessa Volopichová from team Czech Republic, who won the Grom Girls (13-15 years) contest, taking the lead as the best overall female rider. Her team mate Laura Zaveska, also from Czech Republic, stayed close on Vanessa´s heels. She claimed the gold medal in the Rookie Girls class (16-18 years) and silver in the “Overall Women´s” ranking. Newcomer Sverre Dijkmans from Belgium made it to the top of the Super Grom Boys (U13) podium. Charlie Lane from Team Why Ain´t You – Great
Britain maneuvered himself well deservedly into first place on the Grom Boys podium (13-15 years). All competitors were throwing down great tricks, delivering an incredible show to the audience.
Martha Schultz from the ski resort of Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach is delighted with the successful event: „Thanks to the team of the Ästhetiker. Once again and especially in challenging times like these, they were professionals at work. And these kind of events are important for wintersports and for our kids and young athletes. They convey the common joy out in nature and our youth is finding a platform to benchmark themselves.“
With the first out of four results, the hunt for valuable Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY overall ranking points has started in Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach. The overall winners will finally be crowned new Royal Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY family 2022 at the last tour stop in Hintertux. Riders who participated at the Betterpark Hochzillertal will further be collecting points on the International World Snowboard Point List (WSPL). The tour stop counts as an ASA (Austrian Snowboard Association) Austriacup and provides points in the World Rookie Ranking to qualify for the World Rookie Tour Finals. Am 18. und 19. Dezember startete die Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato & Ride Snowboards 2020/2021 bei strahlendem Sonnenschein mit ihrem ersten Tourstopp in der Skiregion Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach in ihre neunte Saison. Trotz strenger Sicherheitsauflagen war der Auftaktevent der beliebten Zillertaler Snowboard Amateur Serie mit knapp 80 Teilnehmern und einem internationalen Starterfeld ein voller Erfolg.
Was für ein Saisonauftakt! Rechtzeitig zum 1. Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY Tourstopp 2021/2022 hosted by Blue Tomato & Ride Snowboards glänzte der Betterpark Hochzillertal mit seinem erstklassigen Setup in der Sonne. Insgesamt 80 Starter waren zum ersten VÄLLEY RÄLLEY Event ins Zillertal gereist und nutzten die perfekten Bedingungen am Coaching Tag zum Training für den großen Wettbewerb am Sonntag. Trotz strenger Sicherheitsauflagen verlief die Veranstaltung zur Freude aller Beteiligten reibungslos. Am Sonntag schraubten Teams aus ganz Europa im offenen Slopestyle Contest die Meßlatte gleich zum Saisonbeginn ganz nach oben. Denn auf die Sieger der insgesamt acht Kategorien warteten jede Menge Medaillen, Preisgeld und Sachpreise.
Der Österreicher Thomas Rebernig sorgte mit seinem „Underflip 720 to Frontflip Double nose“ für Aufsehen und sicherte sich damit wohlverdient den Horsefeathers Best Trick Award. Die glückliste Teilnehmerin des Wettbewerbs war wohl Sky Remans aus Belgien, die sich in der Kategorie der unter 13-jährigen (Super Grom Girls) die Goldmedaille verdiente und in der offenen Wertung sämtlicher weiblicher Teilnehmerinnen die Bronze Medaille entgegennahm. Zu guter Letzt wurde sie von den Ästhetiker Judges zum „Most impressive Grom of the Day“ gekürt. Auch Eric Dovjak aus Österreich zeigte eine solide Performance und landete sowohl bei den Rookie Boys (16-18 Jahre), als auch in der Gesamtwertung „Overall Men“ auf dem 1. Platz. Bei den Mädels war es Vanessa Volopichová vom Team Tschechien, die sich den Sieg in der Grom Girls (13-15 Jahre) holte und schließich auch als „best female rider“ den Gesamtwettbewerb gewann. Ihre Teamkollegin Laura Zaveska, ebenfalls aus Tschechien, blieb Vanessa jedoch dicht auf den Fersen. Sie beanspruchte in der Rookie Girls Klasse (16-18 Jahre) die Goldmedaille und in der offenen Damenklasse die Silbermedaille für sich. Newcomer Sverre Dijkmans aus Belgien schaffte es bei den Super Grom Boys (U13) ganz oben aufs Treppchen und Charlie Lane vom Team Great Britain manövrierte sich mit wohlverdient auf Platz 1 bei den Grom Boys (13-15 Jahre).
Martha Schultz vom Skizentrum Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach freut sich über den erfolgreichen Auftakt-Event: „Danke an das Team der Ästhetiker, hier sind Profis am Werk! Events dieser Art sind für den Wintersport bzw. für unsere Kids und Jugendlichen sehr wichtig – sie vermitteln den Spaß in der Natur und die Jugendlichen messen sich gemeinsam am Können.“
Mit dem ersten von vier Contest-Ergebnissen fiel in der Skiregion Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach der Startschuss für die Jagd auf VÄLLEY RÄLLEY Punkte. Die Gesamttoursieger werden im Frühjahr 2021 am Hintertuxer Gletscher zur neuen Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY Königsfamilie 2021 gekrönt. Für die Teilnahme bei diesem Wettbewerb wurden darüber hinaus Punkte auf der internationalen World Snowboard Point List (WSPL) vergeben und der Tourstopp ist ein ASA (Austrian Snowboard Association) Austriacup. Rookies sammelten im Betterpark Hochzillertal Punkte im World Rookie Ranking und können sich somit für die World Rookie Tour Finals qualifizieren. Dazu mehr unter http://www.powdern.com
